chloeschlothes - Minorca trip

Again, some words in English as many of my friends have asked for it indeed!

Last week, I felt sad, I must confess....the weather was cold here in London, an air of autumn was floating around and I was missing summer, sun, beach
Typing "where to go for sunny holidays in september" on Google, I found an island in the Baleares called "Minorca", well known by the English, not so by the French who prefer Ibiza.

Had they known that the mayonnaise sauce was invented there, they would be more numerous to go, but that's another story..

Well , 4 days return ticket and 2h30 flights, thanks Thomas Cook!  I spent a fantastic time, enjoyed sun, sea, beautiful landscapesnorkeling, good food, family, sunset, sunrise

Now that  i'm back and gonna eat pastas and potatoes for two weeks, but that´s worth it!!!!!!

Here some few tips on which beach to go, what to visit and where to stay.

Beaches

A small fact, the island Minorca has more beaches than Mallorca and Ibiza together, that's incredible! To be honest, I kept moving from beaches to other beaches during my trip there. It was super easy as my friends rented a car (which I highly recommend to do) so we were able to move and see so many beautiful ones ! To be honest, there is no point of going in Thailand to see those palette of coulours from deep blue to transparent blue, white beaches, fishes as you can find exactly the same.
This is my favorite and the one you would definitely have a look to :

Where to stay

My friends rented a small house on Airbnb in the second city of the island: Ciutadella (the main one is the capital Mahon), and, i must say it was really great. A small house in front of the sea, 10 mins walk from the port and the town full of restaurants.....fresh fish restaurant to tapas, pizzaeria and certainly the nicest Burger King with a rooftop
An historic city with few key monuments to see (e.g: The cathedral of Menorca..). I suggest you just lose yourself in this labyrinth of small streets and just admire the city! Concerning the shopping, you have to know that there is few fashion shops (Mango, Shana) but oh well girls..... we have to go there without thinking of buying anything even tough it could be!

Have you already been to Minorca ? Where did you stay ? Which beach did you visit?
